25th Annual GCA Expo & Conference
March 13, 2020
2020 GCA Expo & Conference Attendees and Exhibitors –
I wish that we had better news. After much discussion, contemplation, and with overwhelming concern for the safety and well-being of our attendees, we have made the decision to cancel the 2020 GCA Expo & Conference.
Moody Gardens has been incredible to work with through this process. They will be cancelling our room block TODAY, Friday, March 13th. If you have a reservation in the room block IT WILL BE CANCELLED. Please reach out to them directly, to make a new reservation, if you are still planning to visit the resort. They would love to host you and your family!
Most of you are aware that the beneficiary of the proceeds from our conference are college students planning to enter the natural gas industry. GCA partners with several colleges. GCA college contributions provide scholarships, equipment, and supplies to these future industry employees. These students will unfortunately be impacted by this cancellation. The GCA Advisory Board, the GCA team, and especially the GCA Education Committee, are hopeful that you will consider their situation when we get to the payments / refunds section of this process.
Payments / Refunds: Details will be posted here next week with Payment / Refund instructions.
Thank you a hundred times over for your support of the Gas Compressor Association. As a member organization, it is indeed humbling to have the honor of serving with so many individuals who so selflessly give of their time, expertise, and experience.
Here’s to 2021!

GCA Member Internship Reimbursement Program
The Program:
The Gas Compressor Association (GCA) scholarship reaffirms our commitment to a belief in higher education. This scholarship is GCA’s way of thanking the member companies and employees who have helped make this Association successful. The intent of this program is to further incentivize member companies to provide paid internship opportunities to students within gas compression programs of our partner colleges
The GCA will offer up to five (5) $2,000 scholarships per year to GCA member companies, in good standing, which sponsor a paid internship of a student within the gas compression, oil and gas technology or a closely related oil and gas program at a GCA partner college.
Program Management:
Member companies may submit one application per associated partner college in their operating region. All applications submitted within the allotted timeframe will be entered into a lottery system. Drawings will be held by the end of April. The GCA Education Committee will advise the NACM representative, who will then notify the applicants of selection by May 15th.
The lottery system is designed to randomly select winners but will present one opportunity to each applicable member college before selecting a second within any specific geographical area.
For clarity, a member company operating in both the region of San Juan Technical college and Panola College, may apply twice and be awarded two scholarships.
Selection Criteria:
- Awards will be determined by an automated selection software process and will not be influenced by any member of GCA or NACM.
- Awards are made without regard to race, creed, color, sex, religion, or national origin. Financial need is not a consideration.
Eligibility:
Applicants shall be GCA member companies in good standing (current in payment of dues and regular participation in providing statistics, where applicable) who intend to employ an intern from an associated member college within the applicable calendar year.
Scholarships will be awarded for interns which are enrolled in a 1-year certificate or a 2-year associate degree program in gas compression, oil and gas technology or a closely related oil and gas program at a GCA partner college. GCA partner colleges currently include Lackawanna College, OSU Institute of Technology, Panola College, and San Juan College.
Application Procedure:
- Member applicants must be eligibility requirements.
- Submit internship employment offer letter and student acceptance letter to gca@nacmsw.com.
- Applications must be received no later than May 15th of year.
Scholarship Awards, Announcements, and Distribution:
The recipient(s) will be notified no later than June 15th. Arrangements for delivering the award will be determined at that time.
